Building Better Conversational Experiences With the Conversational AI Toolbox

Creating delightful and engaging conversational experiences may be a little different compared to web or mobile experiences, yet the best practices remain the same.

At outriderUX, we like to take a disciplined approach to executing strategy, UX research and conversation design. We are creating our tools to do so, and are happy to share.

The toolbox currently consists of:

  • Planning checklist: we notice that some critical questions don’t always get attention during the planning phase. Questions like who the target user is, the value a conversational approach brings to the user and the organization, and whether the tech stack and staffing needs are understood. Use this checklist in addition to your typical planning process.
  • Heuristics checklist: a heuristic evaluation is a fantastic tool to evaluate the user experience and discover usability issues.
  • Benchmarking and metrics: user feedback is critical to improving the user experience. In addition to open feedback, getting scores on aspects of the experience helps to quantify that experience and show improvements over time.
